Privacy Policy

Australian Citizenship Test Practice ("we", "us") is a free, independent study tool. This page explains what information the site handles and why. The short version: we do not ask you to create an account, your quiz progress stays on your own device, and we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.
Information stored on your device
To remember your progress, the site saves data in your browser's local storage. This includes your quiz results and history, questions you have seen or flagged, audio playback position, and, if you choose to tell us, roughly when your citizenship test is scheduled. This data never leaves your device unless you clear it, and it is not linked to your identity. You can remove it at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings.
Email updates (optional)
On the results page you can ask us to email you the questions you missed and a study plan. If you do, we store your email address, the test-date range you chose, your latest practice score, where you signed up and timestamps in a database hosted by Cloudflare in Australia. We use this to send that email and, occasionally, study tips. We do not sell or share the list. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all further emails immediately. To have your address deleted entirely, email us at the address below.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how people use the site: which pages are visited, whether practice tests are started and completed, scores as aggregate numbers, and which features are used. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes technical information such as your approximate location (derived from a truncated IP address), device type and browser. We do not send names, email addresses or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on or by blocking analytics cookies.
Third-party services
- Google Analytics for usage measurement, as described above.
- Google Fonts to load the site's typeface. Your browser requests the font files from Google's servers.
- Cloudflare to host the site, deliver audio lessons, store the optional email list and send emails.
- Department of Home Affairs. The study guide page links to the official Our Common Bond PDF on the department's website, which has its own privacy policy.
Installing the app
If you add the site to your home screen, it works as a Progressive Web App. A service worker caches pages and audio on your device so they work offline. Nothing additional is collected when you install it.
Children
The site is intended for adults preparing for the Australian citizenship test. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
There are no accounts. Unless you opt in to email updates, we hold no contact details about you and there is nothing to export or delete beyond what your own browser stores. If you did opt in, you can unsubscribe from any email or ask us to delete your address. If we introduce further optional features such as progress sync, this policy will be updated first and those features will be opt-in.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the most recent revision.
